Sarah Price lost her big brother, Mike, to suicide in August 2012. Mike was a loyal protector who loved working with his hands. He had many special skills and talents. After losing her brother, Sarah became passionate about suicide Postvention and prevention. She sought out information looking into the complexities of suicidality as well as the complexities associated with traumatic grief. Sarah started as a volunteer with LOSS as a 1st Responder and decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Psychology.

After obtaining her degree, Sarah took the position at LOSS as the Volunteer Coordinator. Sarah continues to work with survivors of suicide loss in the immediate aftermath as well as journey with them as they navigate their grief journeys. Sarah is a qualified QPR suicide prevention instructor, support group facilitator, and peer companion. Sarah obtained her Death & Grief Studies Certification in July 2020 and continues to pursue opportunities that will empower and equip her and the LOSS volunteers to companion those bereaved by suicide.

Sarah is most comfortable speaking with the general public, workplaces, suicide loss survivors, those looking to gain a better understanding of suicide grief, and vulnerable populations such as those supporting and/or struggling with substance use disorders and mental illness.
