This postvention conference welcomes survivors of suicide loss, loss teams, clinicians, prevention specialists, organizations, and businesses focusing on the postvention side of suicide prevention.
Dr. Campbell envisioned a “LOSS Team”, a team of trained survivors who would go to the scenes of suicides to disseminate information about resources and be the installation of hope for the newly bereaved. Read more about LOSS Team here.
The goals of postvention responses are to facilitate healthy grieving and healing from the suicide loss at both an individual and community level, and to prevent the future suicides of other high-risk people exposed to the suicide loss.
A suicide loss survivor is anyone impacted by a death by suicide. This may include family, friends, coworkers, peers, neighbors, and anyone else touched by the loss of someone who has died by suicide.
